Woman injured in Pak shelling in Poonch’s Balakote sector

Jammu: A woman received splinter injury on Saturday late evening in Pakistan shelling along Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, officials said.

According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the cross border shelling started again in Balakote and Mendhar LoC sectors of Poonch district.

Officials said that on Saturday evening at around 10 PM, cross LoC firing started in the area and various villages got affected.

They added that a woman from Lanjiote Balakote village has also received injuries and a team of police rushed to the spot for evacuation and other necessary help.

“Woman having splinter injury in left knee is stable and out of danger,” officials said, adding that she is undergoing treatment at Public Health Centre (PHC) Dhargaloon.

Meanwhile, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Mendhar, Dr. Parvez Khan said that medical team have been put on alert.
