Kupwara: In order to celebrate “World Arbor Day” 2023, NSS Unit and Eco-Club Of Govt Degree College Sogam in unison with Social Forestry Division Kupwara Organises a mega plantation drive at Maqam Dardpora Lolab in compartment no 45.
The program was supervised by Prof Mehbooba Bano (Vice Principal GDC Sogam) alongwith the D.F.O Social Forestry Division Kupwara Dr Fayaz Ahmed Bhat. 65 NSS volunteers along with NSS program officer Qaiser Bashir , Dr Mukhtar Ahmad (H.O.D Botany), Mohd Rafi (H.O.D. Economics) & Range Officer Social Forestry department througly attended the event.
The drive was started by plantation of chinar Trees by Prof Mehbooba Bano, Vice Principal GDC Sogam & D.F.O Social Forestry Dr Fayaz Ahmed Bhat, followed by the plantation drive by volunteers and social forestry staff.
During the proceedings, about 500 saplings of different species including Conifers, NRs, Popular and fruit plants were planted during the drive.
At the culmination of the drive, D.F.O social forestry Dr Fayaz Ahmed Bhat and Range Officer Social Forestry Sajid Mehboob were felicitated with ‘Mementoes for their positive contribution in organizing the drive as well as for the afforestation efforts in the area.
