Lolab=The young government employee from Warnow Lolab area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district who died last night at SMHS Hospital Srinagar was declared positive for Covid-19 infection today.
Pertinently, panic had gripped in Warnow Lolab area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district yesterday,after a 25 year old government employee died at SMHS Hospital Srinagar on Monday.A rumour had spread in the area that the youth died because of Covid19.
Nodal Officer for Coronavirus, Dr Saleem told,that the young man died due to acute pneumonia and he was tested positive for Covid-19 today.“Body will be handed over to family and he will be buried as per Covid-19 protocol,”he said.
Pertinently to mention that A 27-year-old man from Warnow Lolab area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district was confirmed on Tuesday to have died because of covid-19 at a hospital here,becoming the youngest victim of the dreaded disease in Jammu and Kashmir so far.His death has also taken the death toll due to the infection in the J&K to 33.
“He was admitted in SMHS Hospital Srinagar on June 01 with bilateral pneumonia with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and died within an hour of admission,”Dr. Salim Khan, Nodal officer for COVID-19 at the Government Medical College Srinagar said,
“He tested positive for SARS CoV-2 (COVID) today,” Dr Salim said,
With the latest fatality, the death toll due to the virus in J&K has gone upto 33 now.
