150 Years of 'Vande Mataram': GDC Bhaderwah Celebrates National Song with Patriotic Zeal and Fervor

Bhadarwah, August, 10: Government Degree (P.G) College Bhaderwah reverberated with patriotic fervor on Monday as students and faculty came together to celebrate the 150th anniversary of India's National Song, Vande Mataram.
The event was held under the dynamic guidance and supervision of College Principal Prof. Basharat Iqbal drawing enthusiastic participation from all academic officials, staff members and students.
Proceedings of the special programme were coordinated by Prof. Mohammad Arif Shaikh, Head of the Department for Geography.
Addressing the gathering as the keynote speaker, Principal Prof. Basharat Iqbal paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters and national heroes who laid down their lives for the country’s liberation.
"There is no way we can ever forget the supreme sacrifices made by our liberators," Prof. Iqbal told the audience. "Today, our country possesses an international recognition as a sovereign nation and the entire credit goes to them. As conscious citizens of India, we shall forever remain indebted to their struggle and vision."
The event highlighted the historical and cultural significance of Vande Mataram, inspiring the younger generation to stay rooted in national values and integrity.
The programme successfully concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by course coordinator Prof. Shaikh. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Principal Prof. Basharat Iqbal, faculty members, non-teaching staff and the student body for their relentless cooperation in making the celebration a resounding success.
