7th District Jammu Yogasana Sports Championship 2026-27 to be Held on August 21–22 at M.A. Stadium, Jammu

Jammu, August 12, 2026: The Jammu & Kashmir Yogasana Sports Association, affiliated with Yogasana Bharat and recognized by the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, is all set to organize the 7th District Jammu Yogasana Sports Championship 2026-27 on 21st and 22nd August 2026 at the Judo Hall, M.A. Stadium, Jammu. The championship will commence at 10:00 AM onwards.
The two-day district-level championship is being organized with the objective of promoting Yogasana as a competitive sport, encouraging greater participation of youth in sports, identifying promising talent at the district level, and providing talented athletes an opportunity to compete at higher levels. Outstanding performers will be considered for selection to represent Jammu District in the forthcoming Union Territory and National Yogasana Sports Championships.
Athletes from across Jammu District are expected to participate in the championship in different age categories, including Cadet, Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior, covering Boys, Girls, Men and Women categories. The participants will showcase their skills and compete in accordance with the rules, regulations and competition format prescribed by Yogasana Bharat.
The championship is also aimed at promoting physical fitness, discipline, mental well-being, concentration and sportsmanship among young athletes. The organizers believe that competitive Yogasana can play an important role in nurturing healthy lifestyles while providing talented sportspersons with a structured platform to develop their abilities and pursue opportunities at the UT and national levels.
The Jammu & Kashmir Yogasana Sports Association has extended a cordial invitation to sports enthusiasts, parents, coaches, representatives of educational institutions and members of the media to attend the championship and encourage the participating athletes. The association expressed confidence that the event will further strengthen the culture of Yogasana and competitive sports among the youth of Jammu.
Zoha Barkat, Organizing Secretary, said that the championship will provide young Yogasana athletes with an important platform to demonstrate their talent, gain competitive experience and aspire towards higher-level representation.
