Srinagar, 15th July 2026, Shahista Akhter, State President, Mahila Morcha, National Loktantrik Party (NLP), Jammu & Kashmir, has expressed deep concern over the alleged rape of a minor girl in Sri Ganganagar District of Rajasthan, describing the incident as deeply shocking and strongly condemnable.
She said that crimes against women and children are an attack on the conscience of society and demand a swift, fair, impartial, and time-bound investigation, followed by the strictest action under the law against those found guilty.
Shahista Akhter stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has consistently promoted the slogan "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao." Since Rajasthan is governed by the BJP, the government has a moral and constitutional responsibility to uphold this commitment by ensuring the safety and security of women and children and by taking firm action against those responsible for such heinous crimes.
She urged the Rajasthan Government to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation, provide every possible support to the victim and her family, and ensure that justice is delivered without delay. She also called upon the government to strengthen measures for the protection of women and children so that such tragic incidents do not recur.
Shahista Akhter emphasized that the protection of every daughter must remain above politics. She said that ensuring justice for victims and creating a safe and secure environment for women and children is the collective responsibility of every government and every section of society.
