Srinagar, May 18: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar Monday said that both PDP and BJP have become desperate and rattled by the growing public support for the Omar Abdullah-led Government.

He said this while interacting with scores of public delegations that had called on him at the party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha. He said the opposition is deliberately manufacturing false narratives and indulging in political theatrics after witnessing the effective outreach, developmental momentum and strong connection that National Conference ministers and legislators have established with the people across Jammu and Kashmir.

“Their frustration is evident as people across Jammu and Kashmir are standing firmly behind the National Conference and its agenda of peace, development and dignity. Having failed politically and morally during their own tenure, they are now resorting to misinformation and propaganda to mislead the public,” Sagar said.

He added that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have not forgotten the “opportunistic alliance” between the BJP and PDP which, he said, pushed the region into uncertainty and political instability.

“Those who were responsible for betrayal of public trust have no moral authority to question a Government that is working tirelessly for the welfare and aspirations of the people. The BJP-PDP combine can neither digest the National Conference’s growing popularity nor the visible progress taking place under Omar Abdullah’s leadership,” he said.
