DBU Empowers Future Innovators on World Entrepreneurship Day

Mandi Gobindgarh, September 17: The Department of Business Management and Commerce DBU celebrated World Entrepreneurship Day with great enthusiasm and zeal by organising a special lecture aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity, and an entrepreneurial mindset among students.  

The programme was graced by Dr. Zora Singh, Hon’ble Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University and Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro Chancellor as the Chief Guest and Dr. G. S. Batra, Pro Vice Chancellor, RDC, were the distinguished guests. Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, Director, PCCI, joined the programme as the Guest Speaker.

Dr. Nidhi Gupta, Director, Department of Business Management and Commerce, delivered the welcome address and extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, guest speaker, faculty members, and students. She highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in empowering young minds and encouraging students to transform innovative ideas into meaningful ventures.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Zora Singh, Hon’ble Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, appreciated the efforts of the Department of Business Management and Commerce for organising the special lecture. He emphasised the importance of developing an entrepreneurial outlook among students and encouraged them to pursue innovation, creativity, and self-reliance. He appreciated the active participation of the students and expressed his best wishes for their future endeavours.

Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro Chancellor, also addressed the gathering and shared her valuable thoughts on the significance of entrepreneurship in the contemporary business environment. She encouraged students to remain innovative, confident, and prepared to explore emerging opportunities in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Dr. G. S. Batra, Pro Vice Chancellor, RDC, also addressed the gathering and appreciated the initiative taken by the Department. He emphasised the need for students to develop practical knowledge, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and an entrepreneurial mindset to meet the changing requirements of the business world.

The Guest Speaker, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, Director, PCCI, delivered an insightful and engaging lecture on entrepreneurship. She shared valuable perspectives on developing entrepreneurial skills, identifying business opportunities, innovation, leadership, and transforming ideas into successful ventures. Her interaction with the students provided them with practical insights and motivation to consider entrepreneurship as a promising career pathway.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Tavneet K Reen, Assistant Professor who expressed sincere gratitude to the management and participants.
