DBU’s 78th Mega Job Fair Connects Youth with 3,000+ Career Opportunities
Sri Muktsar Sahib, September 16: Desh Bhagat University (DBU) successfully organised its 78th Mega Job Fair at Desh Bhagat Global School, Sri Muktsar Sahib, providing a vibrant platform for students and job seekers to connect with leading employers and explore diverse career opportunities.
The event was graced by Dr. Baljeet Kaur, Cabinet Minister, Punjab Government, as the Chief Guest, while S. Jagdeep Singh Brar, MLA, Sri Muktsar Sahib, attended as the Guest of Honour. The occasion was further honoured by the presence of Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor; Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor; and Prof. (Dr.) Harsh Sadawarti, Vice-Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University.
The mega recruitment drive witnessed an enthusiastic response from students and job seekers. More than 1,000 candidates registered on the spot, while over 3,000 job vacancies were offered by 40+ reputed companies. The participating organisations offered packages of up to ₹8 lakh per annum, opening avenues for employment across sectors such as manufacturing, engineering, BPO, banking, retail, and emerging industries.
Leading organisations, including Amazon, TCS, McDonald’s, HDFC Bank, and Axis Bank, along with several other reputed employers, participated in the recruitment drive. The event enabled candidates to interact directly with recruiters, understand industry requirements, and explore opportunities to begin or advance their professional careers.
The dignitaries appreciated Desh Bhagat University’s sustained efforts to bridge the gap between education and employment. They highlighted the importance of industry-academia collaboration, skill development, and the creation of meaningful career pathways for the youth.
