Kralpora, July 6: A grand book release ceremony of Sunzal, the debut poetry collection of renowned educationist, poet, and lecturer Ali Mohammad Mir Rawatpori, was held on Monday, July 6, 2026 (20th Muharram-ul-Haram) at 1:30 p.m. in the Auditorium Hall of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Kralpora. The event was jointly organized by Wisdom Wings Educational Foundation, Book Readers Club, Kralpora, and Nida-e-Adab, Kralpora.
The function was presided over by the eminent poet, author of many books, and literary figure Ghulam Rasool Mir Dardpuri, while renowned educationist, poet, and President of the Cultural Trust Kupwara, Ayoob Khan Dilbar, attended as the Guest of Honour.
Among the distinguished guests cum participants were noted poet Abdul Khaliq Bhat (Saba Kashmiri); retired educationists and former principals Ghulam Nabi Mir, Haji Mohammad Maqbool Mir, Aashiq Hussain Pal, Raja Khush Dil Khan, Khizar Mohammad Sheikh, and Manzoor Ahmad Mir; Ali Mohammad Lone (Zonal Education Officer, Kralpora), Riyaz Mahmood Kulgam (Zonal Educational Planning Officer), Jaffer Hussain Sheikh (Zonal Cultural Coordinator), senior journalist and Kashmir Uzma correspondent Mohammad Ashraf Chirag, media representatives, members of various teachers' associations, Principal Mohammad Ashraf Malik along with the staff of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Kralpora, Principal Abdul Majeed Payer of Government Higher Secondary School Warsun, office bearers of Wisdom Wings Educational Foundation including its Patron Lecturer Peerzada Javed Iqbal, Peerzada Shabir Ahmad Kirmani, Taha Yaseen Bhat, Mir Arshid Siddiq, Director of Book Readers Club Peer Adil Hamid Shah, Irfan Amin Peer, Tahir Nabi Lone, Showkat Budnumbal Kashmiri, office bearers of Nida-e-Adab Kralpora led by its President Ali Majrooh, prominent poets and literary personalities, besides the NCC Cadets of the host institution.
The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an by Tahir Nabi Lone, followed by a soulful rendition of Naat-e-Rasool (SAW) by Irfan Amin Peer.
Welcoming the guests, Peerzada Javed Iqbal presented the welcome address and delivered the inaugural speech. He emphasized the importance of literature, reading culture, and creative activities, stating that such literary gatherings play a vital role in promoting intellectual awareness, love for books, and positive educational values in society. He also expressed gratitude to all participating organizations, guests, and attendees.
The keynote literary review of _Sunzal_ was presented by Ayoob Khan Dilbar, who delivered a comprehensive and scholarly critique of the collection. He highlighted the poetic excellence, literary style, thematic richness, and artistic expression of the author, describing the book as a valuable contribution to mother tongue & contemporary Kashmiri literature.
The gathering was also addressed by Haji Mohammad Maqbool Mir, Raja Khush Dil Khan, Khizar Mohammad Sheikh, Manzoor Ahmad Mir, Aashiq Hussain Pal, Ghulam Nabi Mir, Mohammad Ashraf Malik, and Abdul Khaliq Bhat (Saba Kashmiri). The speakers paid rich tributes to the educational and literary services of Ali Mohammad Mir Rawatpori and appreciated Sunzal as a significant addition to the Kashmiri literature. They expressed confidence that the author would continue enriching the literary world through his future creative works.
During the programme, Wisdom Wings Educational Foundation and Book Readers Club, Kralpora presented selected books to the chief guests, the chairperson, and other distinguished participants to promote reading habits and literary culture. Representatives of various literary, educational, and social organizations also felicitated the author by presenting him with traditional shawls, flower bouquets , and other commemorative gifts in recognition of his literary achievements and the publication of his debut poetry collection.
The proceedings were skillfully conducted by Peerzada Shabir Ahmad Kirmani, while the vote of thanks was presented by Mir Arshid Siddiq, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests, speakers, participants, organizers, and all those who contributed to the success of the event. He further highlighted the role of organizations like Wisdom Wings Educational Foundation & Book Readers Club.
The ceremony concluded on a highly successful note, with participants expressing hope that such literary initiatives would continue in the future, fostering a stronger culture of reading, creativity, and literary excellence among the younger generation and society at large.
