Iran has damaged at least 20 US military sites across the Middle East since the start of the conflict, according to an analysis of satellite imagery and videos by BBC Verify.
The report said Iranian strikes targeted key US bases and shared military facilities in eight countries — Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Bahrain and Oman — causing damage to air defence systems, refuelling aircraft, surveillance equipment and other military infrastructure.
According to BBC Verify, the attacks damaged several high-value assets, including THAAD anti-ballistic missile batteries, refuelling aircraft and communications systems. Satellite imagery also showed destruction at bases in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
The report noted that while US officials have repeatedly stated that Iran’s military capabilities have been severely degraded, analysts believe Tehran’s retaliatory strikes have been more precise and extensive than publicly acknowledged.
BBC Verify said experts observed a shift in Iranian tactics from large-scale missile barrages to more targeted attacks aimed at high-value military assets. Analysts also warned that if the fragile ceasefire between Washington and Tehran collapses, US bases in the Gulf region could remain vulnerable due to depleted air-defence resources.
