Mumbai, Aug 06: The Ice Hockey Association of India conducted its elections on August 2, 2026, at Hotel Vits Sharanam, Thane, Mumbai, with stakeholders from across the country participating in the democratic exercise held in accordance with Sports Code Act and the rules and regulations of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).

The Association, in a statement issued here, said the elections were conducted under the Chairmanship of Justice Prakash Naik (Retd. High Court Judge) as Returning Officer and Ashok Bhansare (Retd. District Judge) as Assistant Returning Officer.

All the codal formalities were completed on the spot, and the elections were held in a cordial atmosphere after threadbare discussions.

The elected office bearers and executive body members of the association are P.T. Kunzang was elected as President, Ajit Kaker as Senior Vice President, Santosh Pandurang Vetal as Vice President, S.M. Bali as Chief Executive Officer, Vijayanand Surwase as Assistant Secretary, and Maheshwari Apparao Dangeti as Treasurer. The executive body comprises M. Ashraf Dijoo, Purushottam Jagtap, Toundup Namgyal, and Padma Chorol as Executive Members.

After the completion of the election process, a vote of thanks was proposed to the Chairperson, followed by a photo session at the venue.

Subsequently, the first Executive Committee meeting was held at the same hotel, during which further actions regarding the Association were discussed and approved on the spot.
