In a significant move against terrorism, the Jammu and Kashmir Police announced on Saturday the execution of a proclamation under Section 84 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) targeting a wanted terrorist linked to several cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The individual in question, Mohammad Qasim, also known as Salman, is a resident of Angralla village in the Mahore region of Reasi district.

The police operation was led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Mahore, Parul Bhardwaj, who acted on the orders of the 3rd Additional Sessions Judge in Jammu, a court designated under the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Act. The proclamation is associated with FIR No. 115/2022, which was filed at the Mahore police station and includes serious charges under multiple sections of the UAPA, specifically Sections 13, 17, 18, 20, 38, and 39.

According to police sources, Qasim is identified as a cross-border terror handler implicated in various UAPA cases, notably the Katra and Narwal blast incidents that occurred in 2022 and 2023. Authorities believe he has fled to Pakistan following his involvement in these activities. The police have emphasized the urgency of the situation, highlighting the need for Qasim to face justice for his alleged crimes.

During the execution of the proclamation, SDPO Bhardwaj, accompanied by local representatives from Angralla village, visited Qasim's home. The police team publicly read the court's order, ensuring that both his family and the local community were informed of the legal proceedings against him.
