Bhadarwah, June 04: A massive awareness rally under the twin banners of 'Nasha Mukt Abhiyan' (Drug-Free Campaign) and 'Communal Harmony' swept through this historic town on Thursday, drawing thousands of students, traders and local citizens who braved sudden downpours to pledge against substance abuse and fortify regional brotherhood.

The grand event was jointly organized by Beoparmandal Bhaderwah and the Youth Action Committee Bhaderwah (NGO) in close collaboration with the Doda District Administration, Civil Administration Bhaderwah, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and various local civil society bodies.

The mega rally was officially flagged off from the main gate of the Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Bhaderwah by the Chief Guest, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Kartik, alongside a panel of top civil and security officials.

Following the flag-off, a mammoth crowd traversed the designated tracks of the town, chanting high-decibel slogans like "Say No to Drugs." The marchers sent a powerful, unified message across the region against the growing menace of substance abuse while simultaneously reinforcing the age-old bonds of communal harmony in the valley.

"The overwhelming participation from every section of society today sends a resounding message that Bhaderwah stands entirely united against the menace of drugs and our social fabric remains unbreakable," a representative of the organizing committee said.

Demonstrating exemplary dedication, the gathering later converged at the historic Seri Bazar Park, where participants refused to disperse despite sudden flashes of rain. At the venue, the leadership of Beoparmandal Bhaderwah extended a warm, traditional welcome to the dignitaries.

A central highlight of the program was the administration of a solemn anti-drug and communal harmony pledge. The oath was read out by SSP Doda Kartik and was passionately repeated by the massive gathering, echoing across the packed park.

The mega event witnessed cross-sectional participation from all spheres of society including the Ex-Pradhan of Sanatan Dharam Bhaderwah, the President of Anjuman Islamia Bhaderwah, members of the All India People's Welfare Society (AIPWS) team, ex-servicemen, NCC cadets and a massive contingent of students from various local schools and colleges.

Prominent administrative figures accompanying the SSP included the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhaderwah, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Doda, Additional SP Bhaderwah, Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Bhaderwah and the Commanding Officer of the CRPF, among other line department heads.

The landmark event concluded with the organizers presenting a special Token of Appreciation Certificate to SSP Doda Kartik, honoring his presence and recognizing the proactive administrative support to the program.
