BRABU: VC Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai extends 80th Independence Day greetings, calls for knowledge-driven freedom
Muzaffarpur: On the 80th Independence Day, Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai, Vice Chancellor of BR Ambedkar Bihar University, has called upon the youth of Bihar and the nation to usher in a new era of knowledge driven freedom a freedom of thought, innovation and original ideas that will define India’s second century of independence.
In a special message issued from the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, Prof. Rai observed that while the first 80 years of freedom were about securing political sovereignty and building the foundations of a modern nation, the next phase must be driven by the power of ideas, research and human capital. “True independence in the 21st century will not be measured only by the strength of our borders, but by the strength of our minds,” he said.
Prof. Rai envisioned universities as the new temples of national awakening. He stated that institutions must evolve into living laboratories of innovation where students do not merely seek jobs, but create solutions for the challenges of rural India, climate resilience, food security, and digital transformation. He described the present generation of students as “the architects of Viksit Bharat 2047” and urged them to convert the spirit of the freedom struggle into a relentless pursuit of excellence and original thinking.
Highlighting Bihar’s unique historical role as the land of knowledge and enlightenment, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Rai said the state once again has the opportunity to lead India’s intellectual renaissance. He expressed confidence that BRABU, through its focus on research, skill development, entrepreneurship and value based education, will play a pioneering role in shaping a self reliant, innovative and globally competitive India.
Concluding his message, Prof. Rai appealed to the entire university family to transform the celebration of Independence Day into a daily commitment to free the mind from mediocrity, to free knowledge from boundaries, and to free the nation from every form of dependency.
Prof. Rai was joined by distinguished academicians including Prof. B.S. Rai, Prof. Kanupriya, Prof. Rajeev Kumar, Dr. Shartendu Shekhar and Dr. Navin Kumar in extending warm Independence Day greetings to the university fraternity and the nation.
