Over 50 Top Companies Participate; J&K Lieutenant Governor Graces Landmark Employment Initiative

Srinagar: In one of the largest employment initiatives ever organised in Jammu & Kashmir, Desh Bhagat University (DBU), Punjab, in collaboration with Cluster University Srinagar, National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Srinagar, and the Nations Development Association (NDA), successfully organised the 77th State-Level Mega Job Fair 2026 at Amar Singh College, Srinagar.

The event was graced by the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir as the Chief Guest, reaffirming the government's commitment to youth empowerment, skill development and employment generation. Dr. Sandeep Singh, President, Desh Bhagat University, and Prof. Mohammad Mobin, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University Srinagar, Prof. Dr. KS Chadershekhar Vice Chancellor Cluster University Jammu were also present on the occasion.

The Mega Job Fair marked a significant milestone in university-industry collaboration by taking employment opportunities directly to the youth of Kashmir. Going beyond its traditional role of imparting education, Desh Bhagat University demonstrated its commitment to enhancing employability and creating meaningful career pathways for students and job seekers.

More than 50 leading national and multinational companies participated in the fair, offering over 10,000 job opportunities across diverse sectors, including Banking, Information Technology, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Retail, Insurance, Hospitality, Telecommunications, Education, Pharmaceuticals, Consulting, Electric Vehicles, E-commerce, and Overseas Recruitment.

The highest salary package offered during the event reached ₹12 lakh per annum, while several other organisations presented attractive compensation packages and long-term career prospects for graduates, postgraduates, diploma holders, ITI candidates, engineers, nursing professionals and skilled youth.

Addressing the media, Dr. Sandeep Singh, President, Desh Bhagat University, said, "For more than three decades, Desh Bhagat University has shared a deep and enduring bond with Jammu & Kashmir. Dr. Sandeep Singh further informed that the Mega Job Fair was organised under the University's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at strengthening the employment ecosystem and empowering the youth of Jammu & Kashmir.

The event featured on-the-spot interviews, direct interactions with recruiters, career counselling sessions, placement guidance and industry networking opportunities, enabling thousands of students and job seekers from universities, colleges, technical institutions and professional institutes across Jammu & Kashmir to explore promising career opportunities.

The organisers stated that the initiative reflects the shared vision of Desh Bhagat University, Cluster University Srinagar, NIELIT Srinagar and NDA to bridge the gap between education and employment while contributing to the socio-economic development of Jammu & Kashmir through meaningful employment opportunities.
