Rajouri: Govt P.G College Rajouri organized a felicitation ceremony to honour young boxer Mohd Yaser of Rajouri, who recently brought laurels to the nation by winning a Gold Medal at the Asian Championship.
The ceremony was held in the office chamber of the Principal, Dr Anwer Shah, where the college fraternity gathered to celebrate the remarkable achievement of the young sportsperson. On the occasion, Mohd Yaser was presented with a shawl and a cash award of Rs 60,000, raised through a joint contribution made by the Principal and staff members of the college as a gesture of appreciation and encouragement.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal congratulated Mohd Yaser for his outstanding accomplishment and described his success as a source of pride and inspiration for the youth of the region. He expressed hope that Yaser's achievement would motivate more young people to pursue excellence in sports and other fields.
The event was attended by senior and young faculty members, including Dr Riaz Ahmed Mirza, Dr Mohd Saleem Wani, Dr Mohd Saleem, Prof Anwer Chouhan, Prof Yasir Chowdhary, Prof Naveen Sharma, Prof Shabeer , Prof Azhar Choudhary, Prof Mohd Shokat , Prof Joginder Singh, Prof Khaleeq Ahmed, Prof Murtaza Ahmed, Tajinder Singh, Prof Altaf Ahmed, Dr Shazia, Waqar Ahmed, Mukesh Sharma and several others.
The college also felicitated Mohd Yaser's coach Ishtiaq Malik in recognition of his exceptional contribution, dedication, and guidance in shaping the champion boxer’s career. The participants lauded the coach's tireless efforts in nurturing sporting talent and helping athletes achieve excellence at the international level.
The proceedings of the dais were conducted by Prof Khaleeq Qazi. The ceremony concluded with faculty members extending their best wishes to Mohd Yaser and his coach for continued success and greater achievements in the future.
