Kalaroos under construction new hospital road in Lashtiyal, Klaroos area of Kupwara District has been blocked after an old wooden bridge built over a stream collapsed. The debris and broken wooden planks scattered across the road have created serious difficulties for local residents as well as farmers.
Speaking to a local correspondent, farmers said that the blocked route is making it difficult for them to access their agricultural lands and carry out farming-related activities. They added that the road is of vital importance to both local residents and the farming community, but transportation and movement have been severely disrupted since the bridge collapsed.
The farmers have urged the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department to remove the fallen bridge debris and scattered timber from the road as soon as possible so that the New Hospital Road can be reopened and normal movement restored.
Local residents have also appealed to the concerned authorities to treat the issue seriously and take immediate action to provide relief to those affected.
