Srinagar, July 23, KNT: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday hit back at Union Health Minister and BJP President J.P. Nadda over his remarks linking the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) paper leak to the National Conference-Congress government, asserting that the incident occurred in 2022 when the Union Territory was under the administration of the Lieutenant Governor.
Responding to Nadda's statement on social media, Omar Abdullah wrote that the Union Minister was "absolutely correct" in referring to the JKSSB paper leak but had "got the date wrong."
"It was 2022. The government wasn't of NC & Congress. It was a government headed by the Lt. Governor," Abdullah said, adding that he appreciated Nadda for reminding people of the episode.
The Chief Minister also referred to the Jammu and Kashmir High Court's observations in the matter, noting that the court had ordered the constitution of a high-level committee to inquire into the alleged irregularities surrounding the examination process.
"We have no idea what happened to the High Level Committee or its report. Perhaps you can share that with us in your next press conference," Omar Abdullah remarked.
During a recent public address, J.P. Nadda had referred to the paper leak in the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board examination and attributed it to the National Conference-Congress government.
The controversy relates to the 2022 recruitment examinations, following which the Jammu and Kashmir High Court quashed the contract awarded for conducting certain computer-based examinations, cancelled the affected examinations and directed the government to constitute a high-level committee headed by a retired High Court judge to investigate the alleged irregularities.
