WASHINGTON, Jun 11 : US President Donald Trump has warned that military actions against Iran will now only further intensify, saying that additional strikes planned for Thursday would be "bigger" and "more powerful" than those already carried out.
Speaking in an unexpected telephone appearance on Fox News' 'Fox & Friends', Trump said additional bombing raids were imminent, claiming that the Islamic Republic was very eager to reach an agreement with Washington.
"There will be more bombing tonight. It will be bigger - bigger, more powerful," Trump said, adding that Iran was "dying to make a deal".
The remarks came after the president suggested on social media that further military action was forthcoming.
Trump also revisited the possibility of targeting Kharg Island, Iran's main oil export terminal in the northern Persian Gulf, describing it as his preferred strategic objective. However, he questioned whether Americans would support such a move.
"My preference has always been" to take Kharg Island, he said, before adding: "I don't know that America has the appetite to do what I would really much prefer doing."
