Emotions, pride and excitement filled the auditorium of Saint Joseph's Higher Secondary School Baramulla on Thursday as the school organised a special nursery-level demonstration programme titled 'Garden of Flowers', the first-ever stage performance of its youngest batch of students in the school.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of nursery class students who took to the stage with confidence, captivating parents and teachers through a series of colourful performances, songs, recitations and interactive presentations.

During the proceedings of the event, it was a mix of emotions and joy for the parents, glued to their seats but struggling to identify and wave their kids performing on the stage.

Despite their tender age, the little participants displayed impressive confidence and stage presence, drawing repeated applause from the audience. All the parents remained glued to their seats throughout the programme and watched with visible pride and emotion as their children showcased their talents.

Station House Officer (SHO) Baramulla Police Station Hilal Ahmad was the chief guest at the occasion who was accompanied by the Principal of the school Fr. Suresh Britto, Administrator Fr. John Paul and Headmistress (Primary) Sister Jophy.

Draped in colourful outfits and costumes, the kids captivated their parents while performing on stage. The kids narrated short stories besides importance of learning numbers and alphabets. Children were dressed in colourful costumes symbolising different flowers and themes.

While the parents were captivated with the performances of the little kids, the efforts of teachers in nurturing confidence and communication skills among young learners did not go unnoticed as well.

Meanwhile, a skit on environmental conservation was the main attraction of the programme wherein the kids donned in green (tree) costumes highlighted the importance of planting trees. As per the school teachers, the programme was aimed at providing children with an opportunity to develop self-confidence and experience public participation from an early age.

Earlier in his address, SHO Baramulla Hilal Ahmad appreciated the role of teachers in students' life and attributed the success of individuals to the efforts of the teachers. "Giving stage performance is not an easy job that too at this tender age. Even elders are shy at doing it. But the way teachers have groomed these little kids is phenomenal," he said. He added that teachers mend the character and shape the life of every individual.
