PUBLIC ALERT | AUGUST 25, 2026

Stay Alert, Stay Safe

Citizens are advised to remain vigilant and verify information before sharing it, particularly on social media and messaging platforms. Fake news, misleading videos, fraudulent calls and online scams can spread quickly and create unnecessary panic.

People are urged not to share unverified claims, especially those concerning public safety, government decisions, emergencies or communal matters. In case of doubt, rely on official sources and credible news organisations.

Parents are also advised to keep children informed about online safety and to caution them against sharing personal information, passwords, OTPs or financial details with strangers.

A responsible citizen does not just stay informed — a responsible citizen verifies before believing and sharing.
