Press Release

Srinagar :29th December

Today Delegation of KAS aspirants while interacting with Print and Electronic Media welcomed the recent appointment of BR Sharma as Chairman JKPSC and they hoped that PSC will usher now on wards an era of transparency, Accountability and responsibility and will crush the forces hell bent to promote Nepotism, favouritism and corruption who have ruined our erstwhile State.

While one among the aspirants namely Khan Aatif Abdullah said “ since 2014 to 2020 Deva Commission conducted only two KAS exams which had marred the career of civil service aspirant. During these years till date the candidates have only got two chances, however UPSC gives 6 chances to an aspirant to qualify the exam, how come PSC led by Deva Commission reduced the age when they have not advertised posts on yearly basis like UPSC, which is violation of the fundamental right Guaranteed under article 16 of the Constitution of India ”.

PSC has always played with the emotions of KAS aspirants and J&K being Conflict zone has marred career of thousands of talented guys. UPSC also terminated the age relaxation provided to domiciles of J&K which was to get automatically terminated in 2026 . We are left with no option if Government did not give Provide us the chances to appear in exams.

Zahoor Ahmad Khan another aspirant while interacting said “ PSC should talk on merit basis and talking only on the basis of age does not matter there are other considerations as well like providing equal opportunity to all for public Employment and if age was to change did deva commission felt it how many times a KAS aspirant appeard in exam ”.

Our demand is to extend the age upto 40 years at par with other UTs and states of India and even civil service exams are held over there as per fixed calender .
