BJP workers confined in Kupwara hostel stage protest

‘Allow us to go home’

Handwara, Sep 1, KNT: BJP workers kept at Gojur Hostel Kupwara Tuesday staged a protest urging government to allow them to go home.

A large number of BJP workers were shifted to safer places after suspected militants’ targeted BJP workers last month at some places.

The BJP workers from Kupwara who have been lodged at Gujar Hostel told KNT that they will go for indefinite strike if government doesn’t allow them to return home.

“We are thankful to police for providing us food but till date not a single person from administration visited here to assess the situation. We don’t get any facility and sometimes we feel as prisoners,” they said.

Pertinently, a Congress Panch and his daughter from South Kashmir’s Kulgam district resigned after they expressed resentment over confining them in a hotel in Pahalgam.

These BJP workers appealed authorities to allow them to return home. (KNT)
