Fake Militant Module Busted In Sopore, Surrendered Militant Among Four Held; Police

Sopore,April: Sopore Police on Friday claimed to have busted a fake module of Jaish e Mohammad militant outfit in North Kashmir’s Sopore town by arresting four persons including a surrendered militant who was involved in looting innocent people of the town on the pretext of the banned militant outfit.

Four persons whom official identified as, Hilal Ahmed Patoo S/O Ab Khaliq Patoo R/O Check Roady Khan Sopore, Tahleel Nisar Ahanger S/O Nisar Ahmad Ahanger, and Imram Aziz Gilkar S/O Ab Aziz Gilkar both the residents of Lal Bab Sahib Sopore and Mudasir Hassan Ganie S/O Ghulam Hassan Ganie R/O Chinkipora Sopore.

Hilal Ahmed Patoo son of Abdul Khaliq Patoo who is a resident of Check Roady Khan is a surrendered militant and he has been arrested in past as well, official added.

According to the statement issued, Police Spokesman said, A complainant namely Muhammad Ashraf Lone S/O Noor Muhammad Lone R/O Highland Colony Sopore approached the  Police Station Sopore and lodged a written complaint to the effect that a few days back some unidentified persons wearing masks entered his clinic and threatened him that a hit warrant has been issued against him by a militant organization and if he cannot pay Rupees 5 lakh he will be eliminated.

It added that A letter on the pad of Jaish Muhammad was handed over to the complainant wherein he was directed to assist the militant organization by providing financial assistance for carrying out their activities in the area.

Upon receiving this information FIR No. 93/2021 U/S 392, 506 IPC 13 ULA was registered in Police Station Sopore and subsequently, a team was constituted to identify and nab the culprits involved in the commission of offenses, Police Spokesman said.

Pertinent to mention here Hilal Ahmed Patoo S/O Abdul Khaliq Patoo is a surrendered militant and has been arrested in the past too, Spokesman added.

Meanwhile, Sopore Police requests the general public to come forward and report any such sort of crime to the police immediately so that the innocent public can be saved from them.
