GUWAHATI : Campaigning for assembly elections in 126 constituencies in Assam has intensified. On Saturday, two prominent leaders of the country’s politics have been in Assam. On the one hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a rally at Chhabua in Assam. On the other hand, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has issued the party’s manifesto. In Assam, political mercury is on the rise. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi are facing a face-off. On the one hand, Rahul Gandhi interacted with the employees at ioc refinery in Tinsukia today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also addressed election rallies in Chbua. In the Assam elections, this time, opposition parties, including the Congress, are bent on making the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) an election issue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday accused the Congress of supporting those trying to destroy the country’s image of tea. India’s oldest party, which ruled India for 50-55 years, is supporting people who are trying to remove the image of tea-related India. Can we forgive the Congress for this? Do they not deserve to be punished? “PM Modi said while addressing a rally in Chabua district of Dibrugarh, Assam. Prime Minister Modi alleged that a toolkit has been circulated which will defame Assam and yoga tea. The Congress has prepared a plan and the manufacturers of this toolkit want to damage our tea gardens. The Congress party supports these toolkit manufacturers and still has the audacity to seek votes in Assam. Can we forgive such a party? “He said. Saying that the Congress has gone far away from the people of Assam, PM Modi said, a few days ago, he shared a picture from Sri Lanka and said that it is Assam. A few days ago, he shared a picture from Taiwan and said it was Assam. This is injustice and humiliation to our beautiful Assam. Prime Minister Modi further said that the Congress has joined hands with parties which are a threat to the culture and heritage of Assam. Development of every region of Assam is the priority of the BJP government. We are committed to ensuring that the culture and heritage of the state are preserved,” he said. In Assam, Rahul Gandhi once again attacked the government and said that the farm bills were passed without discussion. He further said that he did not allow us to speak in Parliament. However, we are strong, we will protect you and not back. Earlier, ahead of his address in Assam, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today cordon off the government over several issues. He said that on the issue of inflation and unemployment, the government said, “What did this government increase? Unemployment, inflation, poverty and only friends ‘ earnings. Rahul Gandhi again said that the government was also on the rise in corona cases. In Assam, polling will be held on 27th March and will continue till 29th April. The results will be announced on May 2.
