Electoral politics must be de- linked from the majority sentiment in Jammu and Kashmir:Advocate Abdul Majid Banday

Adv Abdul Majid Banday, a socio- political activist, has termed DDC elections as a part of running day to day affairs. Winners of this election are supposed to work for developmental issues only. They don't have a mandate to change political reality of J & K.

Adv Banday said, “Election and sentiment are two different things. We need to de- link both of them. A voter wants Kashmir issue resolved as much as the one who is involved with the sentiment and wants development issues to be addressed. Therefore, one can not be divorced from the other”. He added, “jobs and developmental issues can not wait till Kashmir issue is resolved according to the wishes and aspirations of people of all inhabitants of Jammu and Kashmir”.

“In an underdeveloped society, people who participate in elections want their day to day issues resolved. Therefore, participation of people in these elections is in no ways an approval to the constitutional coup that was carried on August 5, 2019, to change political discourse and demography of Jammu and Kashmir”, Mr Banday said.
