Kishtwar: District Police Kishtwar conducted extensive raids in the house of six suspects in connection with drug trafficking case.
Recently Kishtwar Police Lodged a case FIR No. 20/2023 U/Sec. 8/21/22/25/27/29 of NDPS at PS Kishtwar and one accused person namely Mohammad Iqbal Khanday S/o Bashir Ahmed Khanday R/o Thakrie A/P Shaktinagar Kishtwar was arrested from whose possession 52 Gms Heroine like substance was recovered. During the course of investigation and based upon his discloser one person namely Shahnawaz Ahmed S/o Abdul Majid R/o Hidyal Kishtwar was also arrested in the instant case. During the further investigation and examinations of bank records, Police found financial transaction of financing of drug trafficking. Accordingly, Police took matter with the Hon’ble court of CJM Kishtwar and obtained house search warrants in respect of 06 six suspects.
In compliance to the Hon’ble CJM Court orders, SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS constituted six (06) special teams, headed by Dy.SPs who conducted house searches in presence of Gazetted officers from civil officer earmarked by the DM Kishtwar . Searches were conducted in the house of 1. Inderjeet Singh S/o Bal Krishan R/o Nagni Kishtwar 2. Wazier Ahmed Butt S/o Ghulam Ali Butt R/o Zewer Kishtwar 3. Umar Nazir Kichloo S/o Nazir Ahmed Kichloo R/o Pochal Kishtwar 4. Abu Rehan S/o Manzoor Kichloo R/o Hidyal Bunastan Kishtwar 5. Rameez Raja S/o Abdul Qayoom R/o Sarkoot 6. Ahraz Ali S/o Mohammad Ali Kamal R/o Kamal Mohalla Kishtwar. During the course of searches Narcotics substance viz (Poppy Balls) were recovered from the house of Umar Nazir Kichloo S/o Nazir Ahmed Kichloo R/o Pochhal Kishtwar and subsequently he was taken into custody and also electronic devices including 03 Mobile Phones were seized on spot during raids at different places .
In view of financial transactions, this case has greater ramifications and in future more searches are likely to be made by the Kishtwar Police. “`
SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS while divulging the details with media said that besides freezing of bank accounts, property of accused persons shall also be got attached in near future with the motive to make the district drug free by taking stringent action against the drug peddlers who otherwise are hellbent to ruin the future of the youths for their personal monetary gains.
