Srinagar, CNS: A mother and son were burnt to death during an overnight fire incident in Srinagar. The tragic incident took place in Haft Chinar area of the city where six residential houses were burnt to ashes last night.
fire broke out in the house of Ghulam Muhammad Sheikh son of Muhammad Ramzan Sheikh in Dogarpati Haft Chinar during the night which spread and engulfed the surrounding houses.
Ghulam Muhammad Sheikh’s wife Ajmeera, 40, and son Muhammad Abbas Sheikh, 6, were burnt to death in the incident. Both were rushed to the President’s Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The cause of the fire is being investigated, officials said.
